Google’s 2011 Thanksgiving Turkey Doodle With Easter Egg

The 2011 Thanksgiving Google Doodle wen live earlier in the day to all United States users.

Figuring that many people will be spending more time with family and less with their computer, this interactive Doodle needs plenty of time to be noticed and enjoyed. Google announced the full details today.

The hand turkey doodle is an interactive, letting you click on the head, feathers and feet, in order to change the colors and styles of the feather, as well as the accessories on the turkey.

Click the turkey wing for a random mash-up of head, feet, and feathers.

Clicking the head allows you a choice of a dozen different features, including a hat, glasses, various hair styles and even a football helmet. The choices for feet include roller skates, sneakers, high heels and even duck feet. Each of the feathers can also be customized.

Like your favorite dish, you can customize the Thanksgiving Google Doodle to your taste.

When you’re done dressing turkey, you can share it on Google+ by clicking the G+ share button and link to it using the Google URL shortener on the “link” button.

“Whether you want to customize the headpiece, feet or individual feathers–or just prefer a random surprise by pulling on the turkey’s wing–there are many ways to show off your creativity. We can’t stick your creations on our fridge, but thanks to a collaborative effort between our engineers and artists, you’ll be able to share your turkeys via Google+ or a shortened URL. This way all your friends and family, wherever they may be, can see your festive creation.

The doodle will be up from now until Thanksgiving in the United States, and you can make as many different turkeys as you like. With nearly three days to express your inner child or artiste and millions of possible combinations, you may find you unlock a surprise or two… or three… or 12!,” said Google in a blog post.

Bonus: The doodle does has some hidden fun easter eggs! To unveil the easter egg you have to create the right combination for the Turkey’s dress, then it will magically turn into a specific character.
