The Google Keyboard on Android gets a new name ‘Gboard’, and now also let you search and send information, GIFs, emojis right from the keyboard itself. As an added bonus, multilingual typing to help you switch languages on the fly is added as well.
Gboard will now autocorrect and suggest from any enabled languages, so you can type in multiple languages within the same conversation without manually switching between them. “Just select your languages and type.” It work today in more than 100 languages, with more languages coming over next few months.
Gboard also brings along speed, accuracy, Glide Typing and voice typing plus Google Search built in. Assisted by machine learning, Gboard make typing faster and easier, and include: “improved Glide Typing, predictions and autocorrections.”
Search and sharing with Gboard isn’t that hard now, as you can search anything Google and share results directly right from your keyboard. Additionally, Gboard also now predicts possible rellevant searches—for example “just text a friend ‘Let’s meet if the weather looks good’ will show prediction for ‘Weather’,” google said. And, with just a single tap, you can share today’s weather with your friend and meet up for your next adventure.
In addition, search and sharing emoji and GIFs can also be done using Gboard—now instead of scrolling, just search for example “monkey” to find a emoji, or find a GIF.
GIF sharing now works in Google Messenger, Allo and Hangouts, with more apps coming soon as developers add image keyboard support.
