It seems, Google has revamped its mobile search and News on iOS devices. The new interface refresh comes with additional options, making it easier to get to Google apps, such as YouTube, Gmail and others, much more accessible.
“The new icons are visible upon running a search query on an iOS device. They essentially function the same as the smaller textual links, taking you to the search silos such as Images, Places and News. Clicking the More link pulls even more big icons for quick access to YouTube, Gmail, Maps and other popular Google services.”
The easier to use menu helps filter down your search for videos or blogs with some colourful icons.
Google also has a new apps panel with some bright icons to easily find what you’re looking for. The apps panel comes loaded with all the top Google-related web apps and websites including Gmail, Photos (Picasa), YouTube, Reader, Calendar, Docs, Talk (Google Talk), Maps, News, Tasks, Translate and Books.
The UI update also comes with an expandable menu option, similar to the full version of Google.com, that allows you to search for different sizes of images, videos, news, discussions and more. The mobile version now has the same search tweaks and filters as the full version of Google does.
You can check out if the redesigned page is available by visiting m.google.com on your mobile device and performing a search (you must be logged in with your Google account on the device).
