Google.com homepage on mobile devices has graduated now from just being a search box to more like the Google Search app.
The search company has given a significant makeover to its mobile homepage in recent years that now contains more items like “Google Discover” immediately below the search bar.
Google Discover, is the new name for Google Feed that was announced a month back.
Discover helps to explore interests easier than ever as it shows topics and news items around a users’ interests without even searching for them.
This section shows videos and fresh visual content, as well as content including articles and videos that are new to a user.

The content is recommended based on the following factors users web activity, device information, location history, and location settings.
Discover can be used in different ways like in the Google app, or navigating google.com in the mobile browser on Android phone or tablet.
Additionally, users with a Pixel, Nexus or Google Play edition device can swipe right from their device’s Home screen.
Google also allows users to change settings to let Google know the updates they want to see in Discover.

Those who preferred the look of the old homepage can turn off Google Discover by following these steps in Google App:
- On an Android phone or tablet, open Google app
- Then tap the three-dash (hamburger) menu icon
- Next, click on the “Settings” -> “General”
- And, then select “Discover”
- Finally, select Turn off “Discover”
To turn off Discover in a mobile browser, visit google.com using the mobile browser on Android phone or tablet, then tap the three-dash menu icon and select “Settings,” then “Discover” and then select “Don’t show on homepage.”
