Google gearing up for the upcoming holiday season has rolled out a bunch of new features to keep users informed about holiday price trends.
In this end, Google Flights and Hotel Search have received a number of new tools to help users find the best hotel and flight based on price and location when booking for Thanksgiving, December holidays, and New Years.
A new tool created with the Google News Lab and Polygraph will now show if the prices for flights is a “good” deal based on historical prices and prices available so far this year.
Thanksgiving Flight Price
Specifically, users searching for Thanksgiving this year, a new tip in Google Flights will show users, whether the price they’re seeing is a “good” price. Google will indicate whether the price is unusually low, typical, or high, The rating will be based on historical prices and prices available so far this year.

Google will also offer the user with travel tips based on price trends, like about destinations that have unusually low hotel prices during the upcoming holidays.
Also, Google will show the most popular things to do when a user browse their hotel destination. These tips are all based on the past activities saved in Google Search and Maps by other users.

Flight Deals in Explore Map
For those who are flexible on travel location or dates, Google has added new ways to find great deals in the Explore Map in Google Flights. Users can now search destinations, like “Southern Europe,” then choose either specific or flexible dates, and Google Flights will a search through thousands of possible destinations and analyze historical flight prices and will highlight cities with the good deals in green.

Hotel Price Trends and Comparisons
Users can now easily check the hotel price trends and make comparisons as Google has added a new “Price Insights for Hotels,” which shows how prices evolved over time for the dates of their trip.
In addition, users can compare the price of one hotel to the price of other hotels in the same destination within a similar price range (and star rating) during the same time period.

There’s a new Google Trends page dedicated to holiday travel. Users can quickly find hotel deals, flight price trends, and popular things to do in the destination of their choice. Using a drop-down menu at the top of the page information can be filtered by Thanksgiving, December holidays, and New Years.
