Hitwise in its latest search traffic reports said that “Google accounted for 70.10% of all U.S. searches conducted in the four weeks ending Nov. 27, 2010. Bing-powered search received 25.27% of searches for the month, with Yahoo! Search and Bing receiving 15.17% and 10.10%, respectively. The remaining 71 search engines in the Hitwise Search Engine Analysis report accounted for 4.63% of U.S. searches.”
In the search success rate repot, Yahoo! Search and Bing achieved highest success rates in Nov’10, 81% of searches executed resulted in a visit to a Website. Google achieved 65%, up 5% over previous month.
In top retials sites, Amazon captured the majority of traffic, or 7.985, of all paid clicks for the four weeks ending Nov. 27.
Longer search queries (averaging five to eight words long) were flat from Oct’10-Nov’10. Two-word searches amounting to 23.73% of all queries.
