Google Analystics received two improvements:
- AdWords Alerts. If your Analytics and AdWords account are linked, Intelligence will automatically surface important changes in AdWords campaigns performance right in GA. In addition to alerts, “time on site and revenue,” you’ll also receive alerts “AdWords campaigns and traffic” they’re bringing to your website.
To use AdWords alerts in Intelligence, in addition to linked AdWords, turn on destination URL auto-tagging. Now; 1. Sign into Analytics 2. Select Intelligence from left-hand navigation 3. Choose daily (default), weekly, or monthly alerts. Directly underneath the graph, you’ll see check boxes for Custom Alerts, Web Analytics, and AdWords. If you want to focus on AdWords alerts, uncheck Custom Alerts and Web Analytics. Then, adjust sensitivity slider to see “most significant alerts” or create “advanced segment” to more closely investigate the change.
- More options in Custom Alerts. Its always easy to create custom alert if there’s a metric you’d like Intelligence to specifically monitor. You name “alert,” apply it a profile, designate time period, then set conditions for visitor, and metric (such as time on site greater than 5 minutes, or % of new visits is greater than 30%).
- You also get more options in Alert Conditions drop downs, including all the 20 goals you’ve configured in each profile. Among other conditions and metrics now available: e-commerce and AdWords metrics, as well as more traffic sources, and more content page metrics. And remember, you can tell Intelligence to email you when an alert is triggered.
