Google Allows Advertisers Copy ‘Column Preferences’ to New Google Ads

Advertisers making use of Google’s advertising platform are now allowed to copy column preferences from the classic version of Google Ads to the new experience.

“We’ve heard feedback that you want an easy way to copy your column preferences from the previous Google Ads experience to the new one,” wrote Google Ads team.

For example, “if your ‘Campaigns’ statistics table always showed ‘Clicks,’ ‘Impressions,’ ‘Cost,’ ‘Conversions’ and ‘Cost/Conv,'” “you can now copy those column preferences to the new Google Ads experience with a single click,” the team said.

In the new Google Ads experience this can be done with the following three easy steps:

  1. First up, head over to Tools -> Preferences -> Columns preference
  2. Second, then click ‘Copy columns’ to start copy column preferences now
  3. Next up, allow 24 hours for column preferences to update in new Google Ads experience.

Once you have completed the above steps, all the set columns for statistic tables will now be copied over across all of an advertiser’s Google Ads account.

Here is a screenshot showing copy column preferences:

Copying column preferences feature will work even for advertisers those who no longer have access to the classic version of Google Ads experience, says the Google Ads team.
