To help merchant drive more sales this holiday’s Google Ads’ has announced the launch of promotions on Shopping Actions.
The Merchant Promotions program allows retailers to run digital promotions for their products online on Google.
Once promotions are added to Shopping Actions inventory, shoppers on Google Express will see promotions such as 10 percent off wherever product shows up on Google.
This increases the appeal of the offer and encourages shoppers to buy.
Google citing National Retail Federation study revealed that according to one-third of shoppers “their holiday weekend purchases were driven specifically by promotions +11.4% YoY.
Adding, that 57% of holiday shoppers say promotions/coupons are an important part of their holiday shopping, said Google citing Ipsos study.
Furthermore, by adding promotions to their offers, a pilot merchant saw an average of 9.4 percent increase in its conversions “add to cart” and 9.5 percent increase in GMV per session.
Merchants, interested in Merchant Promotions need to first join the program by filling out the form linked below.
Google will then review the applications. Once the membership is approved, merchants can use any of the two ways to link their product inventory to Shopping Actions promotions:
Those already running eligible promotions for Shopping Ads, can either
Log in to their Merchant Center account and select Shopping Actions, then in the promotions section, simply select the promotions tool to add Shopping Actions.

Or, merchants can create a Promotions feed and then set up the promotions destination attribute to “Shopping Actions”.

Also, Google is now allowing online retailers to show shoppers reviews from their customers about their business and services in Google Search and Google Maps.
Google has launched a free hub for marketing materials called social post styles “Small Thanks” for this Thanksgiving on Thursday.
“You can turn your customers into advocates by showcasing your business’s real Google reviews with new seasonal posts from Small Thanks,” wrote Google.
Small business can share Small Thanks as posts on their Business Profile on Google or on their social media channels.
