Gmail and Gmail for Mobile Now In Persian

At Google, we want to make our products universally accessible and useful, and that means providing them for as many people as possible in the language they speak.

Until now, Gmail was available to people around the world in 53 languages. Starting today that number grows to 54, Gmail and Google Localization teams have worked together with the Persian Initiative Team, to release Persian (Farsi – ), as the newest language available in Gmail, announced Ian Hill, Localization Project Manager.

If you or someone you know speaks Persian, they can change the language in Gmail by selecting it on the Gmail settings page, under the language dropdown.

Also, note that Gmail for mobile is now available in Persian through your mobile browser.

Per Google Persian announcement blog post:

  • Enter your Gmail account
  • Top gear on the icon and then “Mail Options” (Mail settings) button
  • In Farsi (Persian) from the drop-down “language display Gmail” (Gmail display language) in the “language” (Language) select (list is in alphabetical order)
  • Click “Save Changes” (Save Changes) button.

The mobile version of Gmail, the Web browser on your computer, mobile phone or tablet (tablets) is available to you, provided it has facilities in Persian (Farsi support you need in your operating system).
