Fixing System Center Data Protection Manager 2010 (DPM 2010) Console Issues using Powershell and SQL Manipulation [Video]

Shane Brasher has released a video, discussing an example of how we can use PowerShell and SQL changes to correct a DPM 2010 console crash. The issue he is troubleshooting in the video is — “there’s corruption in DPM 2010 database that’s causing the console to crash. He had to change the protection groups to not use the tape drive and to make sure that DPM 2010 database showed the tape as offline and this’s a walkthrough of the exact steps taken to resolve the issue.”

He demonstrates how to change protection to tape to short term to disk only and then covers which SQL tables were used to make sure DPM 2010 sees the tape drive as offline.
