Facebook collection functionality helps users save, manage and find contents from other members or Facebook Page they follow, an ad, a Watch video or Marketplace listing.
Today, the company has announced a new way to share gifts ideas this holiday, as it now allows users to share their “collection of content with other members or friends and family on the platform.”
The feature is hit with users as Facebook notes, it’s now used by “millions each day, who are grouping content into collections, such as “Living Room Remodel”, “Outfit Inspiration” and “Fitness Favorites.”
Adding, it said sharing of collections with friends is requested by users who say “that they want to be able to share these collections with their Facebook friends.”
Once a collection is shared, invited users will be able to view the content from these collections and can add new posts.
For example, “a user creates a collection named “holiday recipes” and share it with a group. Those in the group can view the contents as well as they can add their own holiday recipes discovered on Facebook and save in the shared collection. ”
The functionality though launched for holidays but it goes beyond this festive season.
‘The possible uses of the features includes plan a summer vacation, share wedding registry ideas, furnish a new apartment and more says Facebook.
The collection sharing will be rolling out over the next week to everyone on Facebook.
