Facebook is assisting businesses with new ways to help them more visually merchandise their products this holiday season introducing new creative enhancements.
Facebook says making products more visually appealing forced more than 450 million views of Black Friday and other related videos over the Thanksgiving shopping weekend last year.
New offerings for this holiday season, include:
Overlays for Product Ads
Facebook is expanding overlays, a feature that was introduced last year for dynamic ads, today with new templates. Specifically designed for the holiday season, advertisers will be able to create customizable creative templates to more visually showcase their products.
Using overlays for dynamic ads advertisers can automatically add price and discount tags on creative assets for the product ads.
advertisers can also customize overlays for dynamic ads for any holiday, throughout the year, and can use them in non-seasonal campaigns, as well.
The company, citing two major retailers who tested the new decorative borders, says “increased their return on ad spend by 40 percent each.”

Holiday Templates for Video Creation Kit
Facebook is building further its video creation kit to create mobile-first video ads with new holiday-specific templates and stickers.
This update will help businesses more easily create video ads that showcase their products with holiday-specific visuals.
The video creation kit was introduced last month, particularly for businesses that are low or do not have production budgets to shoot custom Facebook video ads.

Updates to Collection Ads
Collection ads introduced last year today received two updates making them more immersive and personalized, includes:
Advertisers will soon be able to direct shoppers from collection ad format to the instant storefront template.
The new template formerly known as “sell product template in Canvas,” will give advertisers an option to automatically organize products from their catalog into more personalized groupings. like “Suggested for You” and “Most Viewed.”
And, second, advertisers using the instant storefront template will be able to add a video that will automatically generate and personalized with relevant products from business’ catalog.
This will help further easing the video creation process and also will help people to view most relevant ads.
