In the past, I have tried many live chat services, and I found “Gabbly, Meebo Me and Stickam” are most popular IM services that let you embed live chat plugins in your web pages or blog. So you can either chat with people while they are on your site or even let the site visitors can chat among themselves. Here is a quick details of the three:
Gabbly: Gabbly is a chat service that allows you to chat around any webpage. It’s free to use on your personal page or commercial webpage. To embed Gabby:
- Visit the Gabbly homepage
- Click on the Embed tab
- Fill in your desired width and height for the chat window and your webpage URL.
- The code will be generated in the box below. Place it into your page’s html, and the Gabbly Chat window will appear on your site.
- Everyone who visits your page will then be able to chat with one another!
After you embed the chat into your site, please list it in the forum topic, to let more people know about your site.
MeeboME : It too has a nice sleek interface and comes in three sizes to choose from (small, regular, and super-size). You can either place it in the sidebar, main post or even in a popup of your blog or website. You will have to login into your meebo account so when someone visits your site, they will be able to instantly communicate with you through the meebome widget.
Stickam: It lets you do a live video chat with your site visitors. The service is miles ahead of competition in terms of features and customization options. You can add your own skins, profile picture or even change the background color. Other than text chat, Stickam lets you share videos, photos, music within the player. For more details…
