Electronic Arts ‘Medal of Honor’ Drops Taliban to “Opposing Force”

Following, US military’s ban on sales of EA’s forthcoming “Medal of Honor” that allowed gamers to play as members of the Taliban. The video game publisher announced the decision to drop the Taliban reference; “In the past few months, we’ve received feedback from all over the world regarding the multiplayer portion of Medal of Honor from gamers, active military, and friends and family of servicemen and women currently deployed overseas[…]

“This’s a very important voice to Medal of Honor team,” he wrote. “This’s a voice that has earned the right to be listened to. It’s a voice that we care deeply about. Because of this, and because the heartbeat of Medal of Honor has always resided in the reverence for American and Allied soldiers, we’ve decided to rename the opposing team in Medal of Honor multiplayer from Taliban to Opposing Force.”

Medal of Honor is set to hit store shelves on Oct’12 in North America, and Oct’15th in Europe for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
