Facebook recently released a new Groups capability designed to help you share and communicate with unique sets of friends. Docs.com now takes advantage of this new Facebook Groups feature and allows you to directly share your documents with your Groups.
Docs.com extends Facebook Groups in many ways:
- Easily share Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF files with a Group.
- Collaborate together by inviting fellow group members to either view and/or edit your documents.
- You can take advantage of this new feature, even if you don’t have Microsoft Office installed on your computer by utilizing Office Web Apps via Docs.com.

Docs.com is built on Office Web Apps, which also powers Windows Live Office, but integrates tightly with Facebook instead of the Windows Live network. It also enhances Office Web Apps with additional social networking features. In fact, it probably have a richer set of features than Office Web Apps on SkyDrive, such as support for PDF documents, due to it being more regularly updated by FUSE Labs.
