Microsoft released August 2009 update of daylight saving time (DST) and world time zones (TZ) for Windows Operating System via Microsoft Download Center and Windows Update. According to Microsoft, this update supersedes and replaces update 955839, which was released in February 2009. This update also includes additional time zone changes that were signed in to law after update 955839 was created. Windows users’ll need to implement the refresh in order to’ve their copy of the operating system play nice with changes specific to time zones worldwide, including modifications ratified since the previous update was offered. Microsoft products that are affected may also schedule updates to accommodate some of these changes.
