comScore released its October 2011 U.S. search ranking data, revealing Google Sites the U.S. explicit core search market with 65.6 percent market share (up 0.3 percentage points).
Yahoo! came second with 15.2% and Microsoft at third position recorded 14.8% (up 0.1 percentage point).
Ask Network accounted for 2.9 percent of explicit core searches, followed by AOL with 1.5 percent.
In Oct., over 18.0 billion explicit core searches were conducted, marking a 6% increase versus September, according to comScore, Google ranked first with 11.9 billion (up 6%), followed by Yahoo! with 2.7 billion (up 4%).
Microsoft at number three recorded 2.7 billion (up 6%). Ask Network delivered 518 million searches (up 2%).
In Oct. “Google accounted 66.2% of total core search queries conducted (up 0.8 percentage points), followed by Yahoo! with 16.3% and Microsoft with 13.6% (up 0.2 percentage points).
Ask Network comprised 2.6 percent of total search queries, followed by AOL with 1.4 percent,” said comScore.
