comScore’s Sep’2010 analysis of the U.S. search market share shows that in the wake of Google Instant, Google’s again gaining share, after several months of slight decline. Meanwhile after months of gains, Yahoo! drops after becoming “powered” by Bing.
Here’s the share of searches that each search engine is estimated to have handled in the United States during Sep., followed by its share in the previous month of Aug:
- Google: 66.1% (up 0.7 from 65.4%)
- Yahoo: 16.7% (down 0.7 from 17.1%
- Bing: 11.2% (up 0.1 from 11.1%)
- Ask: 3.7% (up 0.1 from 3.8%)
- AOL: 2.3% (no change)
