Bing recently rolled out a slick new streamlined design for “social sidebar,” and today in an effort to make it more useful, Bing is adding the ability to see and post Facebook comments right within Bing search results page.

“Now, you will see comments on a relevant Facebook post within sidebar, as well as the ability to add your own, all without having to leave Bing,” Bing stated.

In addition, you can also “Like” a post directly from Bing as well as “you can now see what your friends might know about what you’re searching for and engage with them directly without leaving the search page,” Bing adds.

Microsoft also released today two new video clips part of its anti-Google efforts, show us how Office 365 is a lot better than Google Docs.

“Office is a team player,” Microsoft stated while pointing to some statements saying “see what happens to team productivity when you choose a productivity suite that has deficiencies”:

“Google’s gaps are not just advanced features used by a few people. Many basic features are missing from Google Docs like grammar check, support for columns, custom date formats, slide numbers, and mail merge. Add to that the many more advanced capabilities missing from Google Docs like Power Pivot, SmartArt, watermarks, master slides, image editing, slicers, and information rights management – and you watch your productivity start to decline.”

— Sean Maisey, Director of Operations, Colonial Williamsburg said.

In the second video, Microsoft stated “Google Docs isn’t worth the gamble.”

Converting Office files into Google Apps is a gamble.

“Why take the gamble on converting your Office files to Google Docs when you can use Microsoft Office and the Microsoft Office Web Apps to create, share and edit your Office files with your content intact? Converting Office files into Google Apps is a gamble. Don’t take our word for it; see for yourself. Below is a document created in Microsoft Office 2013 that we opened in both Google Docs and the Office Word Web Apps so you can see the difference in the screenshots below.

As you can see, you can lose quite a bit when opening Microsoft Office files in Google Docs including text boxes, columns, graphics, image placement, watermarks, charts, text, spacing and more. The experience with both Excel and PowerPoint files is similar,” Microsoft wrote.

Microsoft notes that an increasing number of businesses are choosing Office 365 over Google Apps. Why? Because, they can’t afford to compromise, Microsoft says the customers “tell us.”

“With Office 365, they don’t have to. They get the familiarity of Office + the capabilities they need + a cloud service they can trust. The result is a cloud-based service that enables businesses to meet customer needs and gain a competitive edge,” Microsoft stated.
