Bulk Actions in YouTube; Explore Neighborhoods with New Google Hotel Finder

Update 02/08: Google just pushed updates to YouTube APIs saying going forward, “the updates will be pushing updates via RSS for all of the YouTube APIs.”

Bulk Actions feature in YouTube available to everyone offer new ways to help you more efficiently manage your videos all at once.

This feature is available in Video Manager allow you to make one or more updates to several (or all) videos at once.

“With Bulk Actions you can do things like change the privacy of videos, add tags to videos, monetize videos and more,” informs Google.

Just select the videos you want to edit, then select Actions > Advanced, and choose what you want to change.

In other news, to help make it easier to explore neighborhoods in some of the most popular destinations, via a new Google Hotel Finder.

“After you pick your travel dates, you’ll see a small panel on the top left corner of the results map. You can hover over that panel to see descriptions of different neighborhoods within the city you’ll be visiting. When you’ve done your reading and chosen the neighborhood that best suits your travel needs, you can select that neighborhood to narrow the list of available hotels,” explains google.

Just go to www.google.com/hotels and choose the city you’re planning to visit.

In addition to making it easier to choose the location of your hotel, Google also simplified the process for filtering hotel results. To take advantage of this improved experience, simply type your preferences in the search box along with the location.

The correct filters will be automatically set.

Finally, you will now be able to find your favorite hotel chains with greater ease via a new filter that restricts results to filter by hotel brand.

Update: In his new book entitle “The New Digital Age”, Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt, said that Google+ is an identity verification network–as the network continues to grow, content associated with a verified identity will rise to the top of Google search rankings.

“Within search results, information tied to verified online profiles will be ranked higher than content without such verification, which will result in most users naturally clicking on the top (verified) results. The true cost of remaining anonymous, then, might be irrelevance,” the Wall Street Journal quote from the book.

In other Google news, the company has “Channel Intelligence,” a provider of technology to companies to enable customers to buy their products online, for $125 million in an all-cash deal.

Also, Google has won a court case, “in a ruling today, a Australian High Court ruled that Google did not violate fair trade law by allowing companies to purchase AdWords containing their competitor’s names.”
