Bizarre Creations’ (Geometry Wars) rhythm-action title Boom Boom Rocket is on the Xbox Live Arcade as of today, and the new title can be yours for a foot-tappingly inexpensive 800 Microsoft points. That’s 6.80 GBP or about 12 USD in other forms of currency.
Boom Boom Rocket, which I had the pleasure of experiencing at an EA launch event last week, sees you tapping away on the appropriate button as various kinds of fireworks fly-up the screen in need of detonation timed to the classically-inpsired soundtrack. It’s a fairly standard blend of rhythm action game traits, but Bizarre Creations pull it off with some panache, blending catchy tracks with some nice visuals to make for a title perfect for some post-pub gaming.
Boom Boom Rocket is also the first Arcade release for EA, and it includes a singleplayer mode, a head-to-head to mode, Battle and Endurance offerings, as well as Practice and Freestyle functions. There’s also 12 Achievements and 200 Gamerpoints to be had.
Oh, and we’re told of the possibility for downloadable content should the game prove a success. A demo is available to try before you buy, and the full game weighs in at 78MB.
