Experian Hitwise’s latest search market share report, which covers US search activity in August revealed, Google accounted 65.09 percent of all U.S. searches conducted in the four weeks ending August 27, 2011.
Hitwise says Bing-powered search comprised 28.99% of all searches the month, up from 28.05% the previous month.
And, the combination of the Yahoo! Search and Bing accounted 15.89 percent and 13.10 percent, respectively.
Remaining 64 search engines in the Hitwise Search Engine Analysis report accounted 5.92 percent of U.S. searches.
Hitwise also reports that longer search queries — those averaging five to eight words or more — increased 3 percent from July 2011 to August 2011.
And, the one-word searches comprised the majority of searches, amounting to 26.26 percent of all queries.
