In an upcoming feature enhancement, Bing has announced a change to how they ascertain status in Bing Partner Program.
The update taking effect starting in January 2019, will involve of shifting it to a calendar year evaluation from January to December.
Bing says this update will be applicable to participating partners including agencies, channel, and technology.
The program consists of three tiers such as Elite, Select and Partner.
“As we approach the end of the year…[…]In January 2019, the Bing Partner Program will move to a calendar cycle running from January to December, to better align with how our partners run their businesses,” wrote Bing Ads team.
With this change, the Tier status for all participating Bing partners will now be based on meeting the program requirements like education, marketing, engagement and Bing Ads spend.
The requirement now bases on a formula including billings and output, from January 1 to December 31.
With a calendar-year focus, tier levels will now depend on annual performance review.
This will help partner scale up or down and also benefits will increase as a member’s status moves up.
In addition to a calendar year cycle, Bing is also updating its requirements along with benefits to help partners achieve more success with Bing and Microsoft.
New benefits for partners include:
- Bing will offer membership of its Bing Ads Partner Community on LinkedIn, where it says advertisers “can be the first to know about latest announcement.”
- Access to Microsoft Bing Partner team, subject matter experts and network with other Bing Partners.
- Members of the loyalty partner program can access training, exclusive marketing, and sales resources and technical support.
- Partner Program badge and inclusion in the Partner Directory. It’s available in 20 countries.
“The Bing partner program gives partners opportunities to nurture and grow their intelligent search and digital business, access to Microsoft community and technical experts, and recognition for their work with Bing.”
Bing notes, the new schedule better aligns with the industry standard and how partners run their businesses.
