Starting in April, as previously announced in january of this year, Bing Ads will migrate all monthly budgets to daily budgets.
Those still using monthly budgets for Bing Ads campaigns, now is the time to switch over to daily budgets, because once budgets are migrated, Bing will not allow to add or update monthly budgets.
As on April 30, “all Bing Ads entry points including: Bing Ads online, Bing Ads Editor, API and Mobile Apps, will stop supporting monthly budgets for all markets,” writes Juan Carlos Ousset.
Most advertisers already use daily budgets, but here’s a final heads-up for those still using monthly budgets in Bing Ads.
Starting on April 30, all campaigns set with monthly budgets will automatically convert to “Daily accelerated” budget. The daily budget will be caculated by dividing monthly budget amount by 30.4 or the minimum allowable daily budget amount — “Monthly budget amount / 30.4 = Daily budget amount.”
- Monthly budget amount / 30.4 = Daily budget amount.
- If the result of the division in the formula above results in a value below the minimum allowed campaign budget, it will be automatically set to the minimum value.
- Delivery type will be set to “Accelerated” for daily budgets. A daily accelerated budget distributes your ad impressions across the entire month, showing your ads as quickly as appropriate each day until your daily budget is depleted.
And, marketers will need to recreate new rules based on daily budgets, as any “Automated Rules associated with monthly budgets will not be migrated,” Carlos says.
Since, Shared budgets are already set as daily budgets, so this change doesn’t impact them. If you haven’t yet added, Bing recommends to add Shared budgets to campaigns.
