Microsoft launched “BCL CodePlex Site,” in an effort to streamline access not only to samples, but also to previews, and prototypes.
A promise from the Redmond company is that early adopters will also be able to provide feedback on the evolution of BCL.
However, it’s important to underline thatn’t all content offered via BCL Site on CodePlex will actually make it into future iterations of .NET Framework.
This’s a site for BCL Team to get features to customers to try out without requiring a Beta or CTP of the .NET Framework.
“Our goal’s to put generally useful functionality on the CodePlex site, and to get feedback on it and have a chance to iterate on the design,” stated Microsoft.
Having a feature there doesn’t mean that it’ll eventually end up in BCL. Some items’re samples that build on top of existing classes, and some features might be ones we were considering for .NET Framework but decidedn’t to include for one reason or another,” a member of the BCL team stated.
