Android Mobile OS edged out Apple OS for number-two position behind RIM

The Google Android mobile operating system continued to shake up the US mobile phone market in first quarter of 2010, moving past Apple to take the number-two position among smartphone operating systems, at 28% behind RIM’s OS (36%) and ahead of Apple’s OS (21%), revealed NPD’s wireless market research. However, the numbers also showed the Redmond company’s Windows Mobile operating system dropping to No. 4 in the market, with 10 percent market share.
