Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwitch is now available on Amazon’s Kindle Fire. The folks behind this hack at the XDA developer fourm have released a “pre-alpha” build of AOSP ICS for christmas.
Keep in mind that this really is to be seen as pre-release software, don’t whine if anything doesn’t work. It’s got all sorts of nasty bugs, with the biggest drawbacks being that audio/video playback are pretty much 100% broken.
With that said, few communities can hobble together rock-solid hacks as fast as the Android crowd can. Now that the concept is proven, expect this one to come together quick.
