AMD Radeon HD 6790 Graphics Card Launched

AMD has announced a new Radeon HD 6000 Series line-up of GPUs — the Radeon HD 6790.

AMD introduces this GPU to cater to gamers and PC enthusiasts who are looking for great performance but want to spend $150 or less. The Radeon HD 6970 will run about $149 MSRP and is designed with “HD gaming” — gaming at HD resolutions — in mind.

The GPU is optimized for running games at a 1080p (1920×1080). It also supports Eyefinity for the use of multiple displays (total number of displays depends on partner). And of course it brings in DirectX 11 with Windows 7. It has a clock speed of 840 MHz and 1GB of GDDR5 memory.

If you are a gamer running an older Radeon GPU — this card should definitely be looked at if you are looking to upgrade!
