Access 2010: Introducing Web Compatibly Checker Tool

Web Compatibility checker tool allows users to check web compatibility of the tables and web objects. Access Server doesn’t support all rich controls and properties that Access client supports. Its possible to create apps in Access client that’re not compatible with web and will not work at all. Users can run web compat checker to make sure their application design’s compatible with web and will function once published or synchronized. Web compat checker only checks compatibility of design of the app and not the compatibility of data in application. “You can find Web Compatibility checker in Backstage: Save & Publish | Publish to Access Services | Check Web Compatibility. Alternatively, you can right click on a table or web object and chose to Check Web Compatibility. Web compat checker’s automatically run before publish, synch and import operations. If the check is unsuccessful, then these operations’re aborted. This’s done to prevent a data loss or other errors that may results from these operations performed on a web incompatible database.”
