Yahoo! posted an update on the search alliance, and what advertisers will be doing once the transition window of Yahoo! Search Marketing account to Microsoft adCenter opens:
- Soon, you’ll need to either create a new adCenter account, or link existing account to YSM. Later this month, advertisers will see “adCenter” tab within YSM —clicking it take you to the account transition process, for creating or linking accounts.
- Budgeting. Once your adCenter account is active, your ads will begin to serve on Bing. As a result, you’ll be managing both “adCenter &YSM account” in parallel until ad serving for Yahoo! traffic transitions to adCenter, so plan to budget accordingly.
- Using Silverlight, you’ll be able to see and address key differences between your Yahoo! and adCenter accounts as you transition.
- Yahoo! organic (non-paid) search results will be powered by Bing as early as late August. If organic search results are an important source of referrals to your website, be prepared for this change.
Yahoo! will email to advertisers once adCenter tab becomes available and oorganic search transition is complete. Please note: Advertisers with Yahoo! account manager will get direct assistance of their AM for their transition activities.
