Starting April 2012 all new Xbox LIVE Arcade games will have the option to increase from 200 to 400 Gamerscore points, with the addition of up to 30 Achievements, Microsoft announced.
Even better, this Gamerscore increase will be required in all new Xbox LIVE Arcade games starting in June 2012.
Currently, the base amount of Xbox Live Arcade game achievements is set at 200 points. If a developer chooses to add DLC content to the game, the achievements can increase to a total of 350 points.
The gamerscore increase will be required on all new Xbox LIVE Arcade games starting June this year, so developers currently have a choice, but will not have an option to choose when June hits.
