As you may know, Windows Server 2008 for example can be used as a workstation operating system, effectively bringing the next step in evolution compared to Windows Vista Gold, and even Windows Vista RTM.
And as was the case with Windows Vista, there is also additional content, tailored on Windows Server 2008. Via the Server Unleashed website for Windows Server 2008, in the Toy Box category, you will be able to find four wallpapers at different resolutions ranging from 1,024x768 to 1,900x1,200. There are also two screensavers available for download for PC users, as well as a range of buddy icons. All the content features the Windows Unleashed robot that represents Windows Server 2008 SP1.
"The System Information tool identifies the release version of Windows Server 2008 as Service Pack 1. This is expected behavior. Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 share the same code base. We are unifying the servicing between the two products to simplify the long-term maintenance process and to reduce support costs for customers. To do this, we are changing the files that are required to align the servicing components. Changing these necessary files contributes to the larger size of the stand-alone image," Microsoft stated.
