Microsoft Australia announced a new competition dubbed "Windows 8 App Challenge," during the TechEd Australia, where 50 winners will each receive a Windows RT tablets for submitting three Windows 8 apps to the Windows Store between September 10 to October 1.
During this time, developers interested in entering the challenge will have to create an Australian Windows Store account, then submit three Windows 8 applications, complete a virtual lab session and email Microsoft Australia with their apps.
What is interesting apart from the competition prize, is that the Microsoft Australia is claiming that these "Windows RT tablets would cost as much as $1,000 apiece."
"The contest totals $50,000 AUD in prizes - 50 x Windows RT tablets each worth $1,000 each - and has kicked off today September 10 and closes three weeks on October 1."
"Simply be one of the first 50 Developers who attend AppFest & TechEd to build and register 3 apps for Windows 8 by 1 October 2012, have them approved and published by October 26, to get a Windows 8 RT device to the value of AUD $1,000," reads the contest pages.
According to Istartedsomething, the $1000 Windows RT Tablets might be Microsoft Surface.
