To help developers jumpstart development of Windows Phone applications and games, Microsoft released a refresh of Windows Phone Training Kit, that includes “Windows Phone MIX10 videos as well as one new lab. Due to limited nature of this release, which focused on getting tools to work with VS2010 RTM, we managed to introduce only one new lab – Using Push Notifications. This lab features an end-2-end scenario for simple weather app that register to receive Push Notifications as well as WPF client app that mimics 3rd party backend server,” writes Microsoft. On top of that, training kit includes additional four labs (all refreshed to the new tools): » Hello Phone intends to be classic “Hello World” app, introduce the tools & procedures required to build & test Silverlight for WinP apps » Building Your First Windows Phone Application introduce you to basic building blocks of any WinP Silverlight app » Windows Phone Navigation and Controls introduce you to WinP layout system, phone’s chrome, and few new controls » Game Development with XNA Framework for Windows Phone introduce you to XNA game development on WinP, as well as to basics of XNA game development.
