As Microsoft's Developer Summit in San Francisco just one week away, some screenshots of Windows Phone 8 'Apollo" hit the internet today, shows off an incoming video call provided by Skype in the image below. With the second image shows the option to initiate a call straight from the contact page.
As shown in the screenshot, you'll be able to initiate voice calls, video calls, and IM over the Skype network with your contacts.
Windows Phone 8 also supports Rich Communication Suite-enhanced (RCSe) services, which allows operators to integrate their own, or third-party, voice and messaging services directly to the People hub.
The third image showing off a new data usage app (both the app itself and the live tile associated), which is known by the name of "DataSmart," as per the information Joe Belfiore released back in February.
According to Nokia Innovation, who got the images, "first bar [in the screenshot] shows how much data you have left, the second shows how many days remaining on your data plan". The website also reports that you can even adjust your data plan based on the data report, provided your carrier supports this. WPCentral mentioned that this is one of the customisation opportunities Windows Phone 8 will offer carriers.
The last one images here show off a new camera UI, and the next image showing a new version of Nokia's mapping app exclusive to the Lumia line: Nokia Drive 3.0.
WPCentral, reporting that, in addition to the button for switching between cameras, the lower button is that for a new "Lenses" function, and on the top are the zoom sliders.
