Windows Live Search announced a new service dubbed “News Alert,” which is similiar to Google News Alert and allows users to have news delivered to their inbox every day, twice a day, or just once a week. You can select top headlines, or subject-specific news headlines, or the latest new stories related to your search term.

You can set up as many different alerts as you want and send them to any email address associated with a Live ID. To activate Live Search news alert, just visit news.live.com and sign in with your Live ID, click on the News alerts link, and then click on “Create Alert.”
