Microsoft released details of a forthcoming update for Windows Home Server, which’ll be available through Windows Update on August 24, 2010. This update fixes five issues that were found since the release of Windows Home Server Power Pack 3.

After you install this update, you can restore a client computer without manually creating partitions or mapping the source and destination volume. However, to enable this functionality, following conditions must be true: » backup must be stored on only one disk. » destination computer must have only one hard disk. » hdd in destination computer must be equal to or larger than backup, and must be an internal — IDE, SATA or e-SATA.
