Microsoft launched “CloudPoll on Facebook,” is a “new application hosted on Windows Azure and built using Windows Azure Toolkit for Facebook. Available for free to all Facebook users, CloudPoll allows you to create, manage, and evaluate all kinds of polls for your pages using blob storage, SQL Azure, and compute hosted in Windows Azure. CloudPoll was built by Thuzi in collaboration with Microsoft and incorporates best practices for rapid development of flexible, scalable, and architecturally sound Facebook apps. You can download Windows Azure Toolkit for Facebook from Codeplex. In addition to the framework, you can download Simple-Poll sample application that’ll show you how to connect your Facebook Application to Windows Azure, blob storage, and SQL Azure,” writes Microsoft. Just follow these three simple steps: 1. When signed into Facebook go here 2. Click on Create Poll in right hand top corner 3. All left to do is to create your Pool: a. Type question b. Enter answers to your poll c. Upload a picture d. Decide if you want to post to your wall or another page (if it’s another page, such as a fan page, then you’ve to first add page via “Add Pages” link in order to be able to select it). e. Make poll public, or only visible to your friends f. Click Create Poll, you’re all done.
