Microsoft has released an altered version of their open sourced Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool (WUDT) under the GPLv2. The tool is freee and designed to help netbook users upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 in a more streamlined way. The source code of restored tool is available on Microsoft Codeplex, and the tool itself can be downloaded from Microsoft Store. The new release will provide full instructions for customers on how to install .NETfx and IMAPI prior to installing WUDT. Bootsect.exe will be part of the Windows 7 ISO download on the Microsoft Store.
