Microsoft made available the latest release of Cumulative Time Zone Update designed to ensure that computers worldwide running its Windows operating systems, including Windows 7, are up-to-date with daylight saving time (DST) changes. In addition to Win7, the refresh is set up to integrate with XP, Vista, Server 2003, Server 2008 and Server 2008 R2. Customers can deploy May 2010 Cumulative Time Zone Update through Windows Update, or manually, grabbing files via Microsoft Download Center. "This update supersedes and replaces update 979306, which was released in Feb 2010. This update also includes additional time zone changes that were signed in to law after update 979306 was created," Microsoft informed. "The update that this article describes is a cumulative update rollup that includes all the changes that were previously released in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) articles 928388, 929120, 933360, 942763, 951072, 955839, 970653, 976098 and 979306."
