NPD’s reports that “Nintendo's Wii game console sold a record 3.81 million units in the U.S. in December, eclipsing Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's Playstation 3 during the critical holiday shopping season.” PlayStation 3 sold 1.36 million units for the month, compared with 1.31 million units for Microsoft's Xbox 360. It's the first time monthly sales of the PlayStation 3 have topped 1 million units. PS3 version of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2." Nintendo held the top three slots, with "New Super Mario Bros. Wii" in the lead at 2.82 million units sold. Xbox 360 had three titles in the top 10, led by its version of the Call of Duty title, which outpaced sales of the PS3 version.
