In 2006, when Six Apart launched Vox, a blogging/social network platform with strict privacy controls, investor David Hornik said “Vox is an ‘amazing blogging platform’, because Finally I’ve a place where I can post pictures and video of my kids without concern about who’s looking at them.”
“Vox will be shut down on September 20, says Six Apart. As of Sep 2, Vox is no longer accepting new user registrations. On Sep 15th, you’ll no longer be able to create new posts on Vox or upload new photos or videos. And, on Sep 30th, your blog will no longer be available at Vox.com, and you’ll no longer be able to sign in to Vox.”
To help you make the transition off of Vox, we’ve added new export features that make it easy to move your blog to a free TypePad account, and your photos & videos to Flickr. Additionally, WordPress.com and Posterous services provide tools to help you import your Vox blog.
