At CEDIA, VidaBox announced the WHS-based 1U rack mounted FireServer, packing a Blu-ray drive and delivering on board “Drop-n-rip” archiving from blu-ray, CD and DVD as well as multiroom DVD streaming. VidaBox’s “Drop-n-rip” service archives your discs, whilst finding online cover art, plot synopsis and actor/actress information for movies as well as track information for music. It’s powered by My Movies for Windows Home Server. Storage starts with 1.25TB of standard storage, or up to 8.0TB onboard to archive 900+ DVDs & millions of songs onboard. And is utilising an 1.6GHz Intel Atom Dual Core, and the home server packs 1Gb of RAM.
