Vice City Stories, as you may already know, will explode onto the PS2 come March 9th, and we learn today that a mid-price point is on the cards. That’s 19.99 GBP in the UK. The port from the PSP will also see graphical enhancements, slicker frame-rates, and an improved draw distance.
As with the Liberty City Stories port, Rockstar have also confirmed that the game will not include the multiplayer options of the PSP, the company revealing that they were keen to implement such features, but only if they could be done successfully.
On this topic, UK site Eurogamer.net were told by Rockstar that the multiplayer mode simply couldn’t be recreated faithfully on the PS2, and was therefore omitted. As that site notes, the PS3 and Xbox 360 could do a very good job of implementing a multiplayer function, making the next ‘proper’ installment an enticing prospect.
