StorSimple 8000 series update among new features and improvements, improves the read and write performance to the cloud, which results in faster backups to the cloud.
The update which is version 3.0 also enables the standby controller on the 8000 series physical appliance to perform space reclamation, and ensure that active controller resources focus on serving data for active I/O.
Lastly, improvements to monitoring charts are also made and available on the StorSimple Management Service.
The azure team notes, automated update over the coming month, will be released in a phased approach to all customers. The update can also be manually applied from the StorSimple Management Service in Azure using hotfix method.
Also, a global DNS outage on Thursday 09/15 morning, affected severally Microsoft’s Azure cloud service including API Management, Web Apps, Service Bus and SQL Database and more.
Microsoft issued the statement on the issue stated:
“Starting at 11:48 UTC 15 Sep, 2016 a subset of customers using using SQL Database in Central US may experience issues accessing their services in this region, as the result of an earlier DNS issue. Additional impact may also be experienced by customers using HDInsight and Media Services. Engineers have identified a possible underlying cause, and are working to determine mitigation options.”
As of now, all services have started working normally.
