Big Bucket Software recently unveiled an amazing update to their iPhone/iPad game, "The Incident." Version 1.2 allow you to use your iPhone as a wireless controller to control the action on larger-screen iPad. And with upcoming 1.3, The Incident is taking the next leap: to your TV. To connect iPad to the TV, they're using the Apple iPad Dock Connector to VGA Adapter and will also be testing Apple Component AV Cable.
Here's how it works:
- Plug your iPad into TV
- Pair your iPad with your iPhone or iPod Touch
- Sit on your couch and play
Until 1.3, you can try out the 1.2 version with iPad/iPhone controls here. The game is well worth the $1.99 price.
Below find a quick video of how it works currently with the iPad and iPhone.
Chopper 2 is another app that has this functionality. Majic Jungle's followup iPad trick is outputting the iPad game video to a 42" TV while controlling the game with your iPhone.
This video shows the iPad version plugged into a 42 inch LCD TV via the standard Apple component cable. It's also being controlled with an iPhone over bluetooth.
This setup uses only available public/documented APIs so could technically be made available. However this is only a proof of concept, the initial release of Chopper 2 may not feature this functionality.
