Microsoft started pushing Internet Explorer 8 via Automatic Update/Windows Update, but IE8 will not automatically install– as the user has complete control over whether to upgrade to IE8 and offered three choices: Ask later, install, or don’t install. In addition to download, the installation process also give users complete control over IE8 settings and behavior throughout the first-run experience and ongoing use. For example, you can choose between “express settings” and “custom settings” and if IE is not the default browser in Windows, the option to change this setting is presented in a wizard that runs the first time IE8 is launched.
