The book was, despite, or perhaps because of, quite a bit of controversy, one of the biggest commercial successes in recent publishing memory. A murder in the Louvre and clues in Da Vinci paintings lead to a mystery involving ancient conspiracies and secrets of, shall we say, some theological import.
Though I was originally somewhat sceptical to the casting of Hanks, the filmatic equivalent of chemical food additives, in the role of Langdon, what we've seen so far at least seems to promise a competent thriller with the right sort of atmosphere.
