The new game from the developers of Dark Messiah of Might & Magic will be heading to the Xbox 360 as well as the PC, it emerges today. The Crossing, a gritty FPS set in the dark recesses of a Parisian ghetto will be crafted for both platforms, and Arkane Studios are clearly enthusiastic about their new game.
"If you want to work on 'The Crossing', our remarkably innovative 'crossplayer' FPS for PC and Xbox360, and you think you can make a difference, you could have a place at Arkane," reads the Arkane job advert that reveals the new platform.
The ad (chortle) adds: "As an Xbox 360 programmer in Arkane Studios, you will handle porting, maintaining, and optimizing the codebase for the Xbox 360 version of the game, developed on the Valve's Source Engine."
The game hopes to blend thrill of a good singleplayer plot with the unpredictability of playing a human opponent, by blending the two modes allowing real people to play against the 'Elites' - as the plot evolves. Players will therefore switch between assuming former NPC roles and battling against them, changing character during play, all against the background of a 'proper' plotline.
